Barrie Steps for Life Walk

Our eager CSSE Barrie Chapter Team was greeted by a cool but sunny day for a walk around Kempenfelt Bay.

We totalled TEN in all (counting two dogs) and were joined by about 140 others which included members of

JHSC’s, Safety Professionals, families who have suffered the loss (at work) of a loved one, and entire families

including babies in strollers and wagons. The Mayor of Barrie and members of parliament preceded the main

event which was yet another story of a life taken far too soon at work. The walk began after a ribbon cutting

ceremony and then the first thing everyone saw was story after story, complete with photos, of real people

who have lost their lives at work. The walk ended with refreshments and a chance to just relax and enjoy

the company of like minded people. The walk was a great success and our team surpassed our fundraising goal.

Thank you all for giving up a large piece of your Saturday for this very worthwhile cause.

You made your Team Captain very proud.
